**NEWS FLASH! 9TH August 2021** - Lorraine has now reached half a million steps, wahhoo!! Fantastic Lorraine, your gold olympic medal is in sight! xx
Our incredible fundraiser Lorraine from Walsall, has challenged herself to do over 10,000 steps a day, equivalent to 500 miles of walking and a staggering one million steps in total for SSNAP!
Starting this month and finishing on the 30th September, Lorraine is looking to raise £500 in support of her nephew Connor who was supported by SSNAP 7 years ago and her niece, Olivia, who is currently being supported in the neonatal unit.
"When my Nephew Connor, was born prematurely at Oxford John Radcliffe hospital at just 1lb 2oz my brother Craig and his partner Rachel needed to stay at the hospital to be close to him through the toughest of times that any parent could possibly imagine. Rachel stayed for months. SSNAP provided them with a room to stay in, food vouchers, snacks, drinks and as importantly support and someone to talk to.
Now they are there again with their Daughter Olivia, born at 2lb 5oz. They are providing help and support in an already difficult time.
My 3 month step challenge is my way to show my thanks for all that they have done to help my family and others with premature babies. Currently I have walked 171,541 steps, burned off 6790 calories, walked for 26 hours and 28 minutes and most importantly have walked 111km (69 miles) and have hit half of my fundraising target for SSNAP! Only 830,000 steps to go!"
The SSNAP team would like to say a HUGE thank you to Lorraine for taking on this incredible challenge and will be supporting her every step of the way to hit the 1 million mark!!
