Superstar Lee-Ann who works in the maternity centre at the JR has challenged herself to swim the distance of crossing the channel (and back!) in her local pool in just over 10 weeks! Even after her night shifts, she heads straight to her outdoor pool in Wallingford, come rain or shine to get the miles in for SSNAP!
"I am swimming the channel in a pool over 10 weeks. Just so no one feels that’s not enough, I am going to swim the channel and back!
The complete distance is:
44 miles
70,812 metres
3,079 lengths of my local pool.
I work on level 5 in the Woman's Centre and see all the incredible work that SSNAP does for the lovely families on the neonatal ward, so I am pleased to be able to help. We managed to raise £125 earlier in the year by getting our children along with us to do the lock down stair challenge etc.. We hope all of our fundraising will build up over the years to make a difference. I’m swimming lengths of Wallingford outdoor pool in the rain or shine but thankfully it's lovely and heated!"
SSNAP are so grateful to fundraisers like Lee-Anne for taking on such a challenge to support our families. Keep going Lee-Anne, the end is in sight! xx
