"Between 17 June and 31 July 2024, I will attempt to complete a marathon in 7 bits (7x 6km runs to complete 42km since SSNAP turns 42 this year) in support of the charity, SSNAP (Support for the Sick Newborn And their Parents). I am doing this as my Duke of Edinburgh volunteering activity. SSNAP is a charity that is close to my family’s hearts as we have lived experience of the amazing work that they do. 9 years ago, my youngest brother, Michael Jr (or Juju as he is affectionately known), was born 7 weeks early and spent his first few weeks in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Words cannot express the amazing care Juju received while he was in the unit and the fantastic support, we as a family received during what was a trying time. Juju's is an inspiring success story as he has grown to be a clever, happy, gifted, sporty, and overall wonderful little guy whose beaming, infectious smile and cheekiness lights up our world. We can't imagine a world without him, neither do we want to! The work done by SSNAP in supporting premature and sick new-born babies, their parents, and the staff that care for them is out of this world and I hope you will support me in raising funds for this worthy cause.

Thank you for reading this story and for your support. I hope that you will share this with your family and friends so that they can support us too."
