Recent Highlights

In our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care to our littlest patients and their families, we are delighted to share some recent highlights of how your generous support has made a meaningful difference:

1. Accommodating Twins: Recognising the importance of keeping twins together, we have acquired a second twin cot to complement the existing one, ensuring that these precious siblings can remain close during their time with us.

2. Enhancing Medical Equipment: We are excited to introduce a state-of-the-art video laryngoscope, recently trialled to improve intubation success, thus enhancing the quality of care we provide to our young patients.

3. Comfort and Support: Thanks to your contributions, we've been able to provide 18 Cuski Berties, aiding in positioning to prevent discomfort and facilitate easier breathing. Additionally, over £7000 a year in food vouchers has been allocated to ensure parents can have stable meals while staying cot-side.

4. Community Engagement and Staff Support: We are proud to support events like Little Saplings (not to be confused with our own Little Ssnaplings) and provide opportunities for NHS staff to attend ethos and nurturing presentations, ensuring both our families and our team feel valued and cared for.

5. Cherished Memories: Through funds allocated for photo frames and wipes, we're capturing precious memories with hand and footprints, providing lasting mementos for families to treasure.

6. Essential Resources and Education: From training dolls to admission boxes filled with vital needs, your contributions are ensuring that parents and staff have the resources they need. We've also facilitated numerous NHS staff members to attend additional training workshops and educational courses, enhancing the expertise and care provided by our team.

7. Creating Comfortable Spaces: Through funds allocated for the development of the new Transitional Care Unit and improvements like new blinds for HDU, we're creating environments that are both functional and comforting for our families and NHS staff.

8. Supporting Breastfeeding Mothers: With the provision of breast feeding covers and Medela Expression Pumps, we are supporting mothers in their breastfeeding journey, whether at the cot-side or away.

9. Emergency Assistance: Emergency grants totalling over £2200 have been provided to parents in need, ensuring they have the basics required during challenging times.

10. Finally, our biggest asset of all. Our Family Care Team are there 7 days a week to ensure each family is supported both emotionally and practically.
